GREEN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - The teenager accused of shooting his 13-year-old friend to death has agreed to a plea deal.
On Friday, the teen was found guilty on charges of reckless homicide and possession of a firearm.
The teen and the victim, Hawken Hemmerle, were playing with a stolen handgun in June when the gun accidentally fired and killed Hemmerle.
The teenager will be sentenced on Aug. 18. He faces a minimum of two years at the department of youth services and at maximum he could be held until he turns 21.
Probation will conduct an investigation to include mental and physical exams, psych evaluations and a review of school records. Other placement options, including a number of residential treatment facilities, could be considered pending the probation investigation.
