Traffic pattern shifts during I-75 construction in Findlay

FINDLAY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

ODOT crews are preparing for a traffic pattern change in Findlay. The 224 overpass on the north side of the city has been under construction for five months and has reached its halfway point.

The $11 million project began in February and is a preliminary project ahead of the future widening of I-75.

Starting Saturday evening, through traffic will be directed to the newly-built bridge portion of the overpass. The currently open I-75 northbound on-ramp and southbound off-ramp will then be closed, while the brand new northbound off-ramp and southbound on-ramp will be open.

The established detour along State Route 12 will not change.

ODOT officials want drivers to be aware of the upcoming change and plan accordingly.

"We just want people to know that there's going to be a lot of activity, and to plan on some extra time through the work zone and to be cautious of trucks and equipment," said ODOT Project Engineer Chris Hughes.

The project is expected to be complete in late fall.
