A man has been arrested after leading a police on a low-speed chase Saturday.

According to court documents, Christopher R. McFerron, 44, was arrested after he fled from police on Interstates 275 and 74 through Colerain Township Saturday night.

Officials say McFerron's car was spotted by an FBI agent on Cross County Highway around 7:30 p.m. in eastern Hamilton County. When officers tried to pull him over, he refused to stop, leading to a low-speed chase involving multiple police departments.

McFerron's wife was in the car with him until he stopped on I-74 and forced his wife out of the car, court documents reveal.

McFerron then held a semi-automatic pistol to his head as he continued driving his Honda Civic. After about six miles, McFerron crashed his car and fled on foot. Police were then able to catch up with him and make the arrest.

After McFerron's arrest, police found that he had ingested heroin during the pursuit.

Emergency crews closed I-275 in both directions due to the chase that lasted about one hour.

Police said Saturday that McFerron was a person of interest in the murder of James Rolman, the 72-year-old man who went missing Friday after withdrawing $6,500 from a U.S. Bank.

McFerron was charged with failure to comply, inducing panic and using weapons while intoxicated. He has not yet been charged for the murder of Rolman.

Elizabeth Wood lives next door and says a truck driver by trade, McFerron was the nicest neighbor you could ask for.

"Just last week, he brought me over like two dozen tomatoes and was like 'I expect you to make me some fresh salsa' and I told him I would when I got back from vacation. I never. It's shocking to me," said Wood.

Now, Wood says her family is planning to move next month. She says it is too much crime too close to home to handle.

"It's just shocking that Lockland has turned into this. It has always been such a good neighborhood. We've grown up here. Our families have grown up here. It's just gone downhill," said Wood.

McFerron's bond was set at $100,000 Monday. During the hearing, court officials said other charges are pending.
