CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Since Israel's ground offensive began nearly three weeks ago a series of pro-Israel rallies have been held around the county.

One such rally held Sunday here in Cincinnati.

The main message expressed during today's rally was "I stand with Israel.

With the death toll mounting the organizers say support for Israel is critical.

Scores of small Israeli flags were held aloft while this crowd of more than 200 sang the Israel national anthem.

Shep Englander, CEO of the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati says the crowd was united in support of the Jewish state. "As members of the Jewish community we all have friends and family who live in Israel under constant rocket attack. Their lives have been torn apart and we need to send them a message that even though we're here in Cincinnati that we stand with them."

Melanie Blumental has been to Israel several times and says it is important to show her support. "Really want to show my love and support for our country and that we're here for them. We want to show all the love we can."

Rev. Robert Johnessee with Friends of Israel says he's hoping for a peaceful solution to the conflict. "I think that each and every one of us need to pray for the peace of Jerusalem,
for the peace of Israel and of course that somewhere down the line the madness will stop and bring peace to that part of the land."

U.C. Judaic Studies Professor, Arna Fisher, made it clear Israel is not at war with Islam or the Palestinians, but rather with Hamas. "This is a conflict of terrorists attacking a state
in ways that undermine every notion of moral warfare. Israel wants peace, Israel wants a two state solution, Hamas its enemy does not."

In our commitment to balanced news FOX19 reached out to the Council on American Islamic Relations for comment, but we didn't get a response. However, last week we talked to protesters against the ground offensive during a rally in Fountain Square.

Zade Nabi, wearing a scarf with the colors of the Palestinian flag says "A lot of Israeli's have been killing a lot of innocent children and we just want it to stop."

Aaron Roco of Terrace Park says the Palestinians have not been treated fairly. "I think a lot of the attention that's been brought to this issue has been one-sided and it's nice to
see that people are out here speaking directly about the plight of the people of Gaza."

Organizers of today's pro-Israel rally are asking folks to support Israel financially and to thank their elected officials for their continued support of the Jewish state.
