Multiple street closures are planned this weekend surrounding LumenoCity 2014, the popular light show and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra experience at Washington Park.

The initial tickets offered for the event sold out in minutes. Based on popular demand, the event was expanded to include a behind-the-scenes night on Thursday as well as simultaneous broadcasts from Fountain Square, Riverbend Music Center and online at lumenocity2014.com.

The following streets will close at 10 a.m. Thursday and remain closed until 6 a.m. Monday:

14th Street: closed between Elm Street and Race Street

Elm Street: closed between 12th Street and 14th Street (although Elm Street will be closed to through traffic, a 2-way temporary traffic pattern will be installed to maintain access to and from the west side of the Washington Park Garage).

12th Street: closed between Central Parkway and Elm Street (this extends the existing construction closure of 12th Street from Elm Street to Central Parkway).

Race Street: closed between 14th Street and Central Parkway.

Drivers should use Vine Street as a southbound alternate to Race Street from Liberty Street to Central Parkway. The eastern side of the Washington Park Garage can be accessed using 13th Street.

The city said streetcar construction activity will be suspended for the weekend in Over-the-Rhine for the LumenoCity event.
