CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

A man arrested over the weekend in connection to the abduction and shooting death of a 72-year-old Lockland business owner has been charged with aggravated murder, court documents state.

Christopher R. McFerron, 44, was arrested Saturday after he fled from police on Interstates 275 and 74 through Colerain Township, officers said.

Police said McFerron was a person of interest in the abduction and murder of James Rolman, who went missing Friday after withdrawing $6,500 from a U.S. Bank location.

The aggravated murder charge was filed after a meeting Monday between Lockland officials and the Hamilton County Prosecutor, according to authorities. McFerron has also been charged with failure to comply, inducing panic and using weapons while intoxicated.

Rolman, who owned local scrap yard, was found shot to death Saturday morning inside his car. The car was parked in a silo at a former trucking company on Smalley Road where, according to police, McFerron worked two years ago.

McFerron was sued by John. R. Trucking Company in 2009 for more than $5,000 in unpaid fees on repairs to a truck he brought to the company, according to court documents. That company once operated at the same address where Rolman's body was found.

Chief James Toles says McFerron, who has lived in Lockland his entire life, knew Rolman from taking scrap metal to his business.

Authorities say they are still trying to determine if McFerron acted alone in the abduction and murder.

Lockland officials ask anyone with information about the case to contact Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040.
