NEW DETAILS: Remains found in Oregon are of a 40 to 65-year-old male

OREGON, OH (Toledo News Now) -

New information about human remains found in Oregon indicates the remains are that of a male between the ages of 40 and 65.

The skeletal remains were discovered offshore in Oregon on July 17.

Investigators say the man had no natural teeth, and that it looks like he had no teeth for quite some time. The man was between 5'7" and 5'10" tall. The person had been dead for between two and six months. It's unclear how long the remains sat on the lake shore or in the water.

"The next step would be waiting for the coroner's office to be completely finished," explained Oregon Police Detective Janet Zale. "Then I'll collect the bones that I need to send to BCI so they can send them down to Texas for the DNA collection, so they can see if they can be identified with someone who has been reported missing."

Anyone with information is asked to call the Oregon Police Department at 419-698-7139.
