SHARONVILLE, OH (FOX19) - A former Scarlet Oaks teacher was indicted for allegedly having sex with three students.
Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph Deters announced the indictment of former teacher Dan Knecht, 43, for six counts of sexual battery.
If convicted on all charges, he faces the possibility of 30 years in prison.
Carly Skwir, 20, was also charged in the indictment. Skwir, a former student of Knecht, is charged with two counts of obstruction of justice and two counts of tampering with evidence.
Officials say Skwir told two victims to delete incriminating evidence regarding Knecht from various social media accounts.
She could get up to 8 years in prison.
Knecht started teaching at Sharonville Scarlet Oaks in 2011. His contract was not renewed after the 2013-2014 school year.
The investigation began in January when a student reported that another student was involved in a sexual relationship with Knecht.
"It is disturbing to have yet another teacher, this is approximately four in the last six months, charged with having sexual relationships with his students," said Deters. "This behavior crosses a very definite line and should not be tolerated."
