Call it lucky number seven for the Reds (56-55). Cincinnati scored seven runs for the first time since July 7 on Sunday in a 7-3 win over the Marlins. Billy Hamilton drove in a run, scored three times and stole his 43rd base of the year as the Redlegs took three of four in Miami.

"It is our saying. As I go, we go," said Hamilton. "They're putting the pressure on me to come through in the situations that I've been [having]. It's fun when I get on base and fun to watch, so I have to do the job. These big parks make [people] see how fast I really am."

The Reds built a 5-0 lead in the fourth, then stretched it to a 7-1 chokehold on the Marlins in the sixth with a Devin Mesoraco RBI single that scored two runs. Mesoraco went 3-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI.

"It was great to get separation and build the lead. We had some really important bats from our guys today," said Reds manager Bryan Price. "It's nice to have some wiggle room for once."

"This second half hasn't been too good for us, but we're getting back into it," said Hamilton. "We're coming to the field with a lot of confidence now, and we're going to be good the rest of the season."

The Reds' 15 hits are their most in a game since June 15. Mike Leake picked up his ninth win of the year giving up three hits and allowing one earned run in six innings. Leake also struck out five batters.
