WALNUT HILLS, OH ( FOX19) -

A fire broke out Tuesday inside of a two-family residence in Walnut Hills and spread to the home next door, fire officials said.

Firefighters were dispatched at about 10:15 a.m. to a 3-alarm fire in the 2600 block of Stanton Avenue, between William Howard Taft and Oak Street. Officials at the scene said a neighbor saw smoke and reported the fire.

Cincinnati Fire Department officials said a second adjacent home caught fire and a third building was also threatened. It was brought under control within 45 minutes, officials said. A total of 65 firefighters responded.

No one was inside at the time and no injuries were reported, officials said.

The first building had approximately $40,000 in damages, and damage to the exposed building was estimated at $10,000.

The cause remains under investigation.
