BEAVERCREEK, OH (FOX19) - Authorities have identified the man who was shot to death inside a Walmart on Tuesday night.
The Montgomery County coroner's office confirms 22-year-old John Crawford of Fairfield, Ohio was killed in an incident at the Beavercreek Walmart, located near Dayton.
Authorities say Crawford was waving a "rifle-type" weapon at customers in the store around 8 p.m. When Crawford refused police commands to drop the weapon, he was shot by an officer, according to Police Chief Dennis Evers.
Crawford died at the Miami Valley Hospital.
The officers involved were placed on administrative leave and the Ohio Bureau of Investigation is looking in to the incident.
