Hundreds of Cincinnatians participated in the world's longest yard sale this weekend, and now one local family is using some of those yard sale items in their newly furnished home.

General Motors Co. and Habitat for Humanity teamed up to travel along the yard sale route from Georgia to Ohio to collect items for a Cheviot family to renovate their home.

Earlier this year Habitat for Humanity partnered with homeowners Axel Myilibakwe and Immaculee Mukabalisa to provide assistance in updating their home.

This home rehabilitation is part of a series of home improvements by Habitat for Humanity International funded by a more than $1.45 million grant from the GM Foundation.

The world's longest yard sale, called the 127 Sale for it's location along Highway 127, spans 690 miles from Alabama to Michigan.
