OVER-THE-RHINE (FOX19) -

Elementz, Cincinnati's urban arts center dedicated to providing a creative outlet for inner-city youth, is hosting a community dance competition.

"Heroes Rise: Return to Grace" is a one-on-one breakdance competition and all-styles dance competition event with a goal of connecting people to one another.

One-on-one breakdance prize is $500, and one-one-one all styles prize is also $500.

In addition to the competition, the event also features musical performances, spoken word pieces, dance showcases, art exhibits and local vendors.

Organizers say Heroes Rise pays homage to community leaders serving as mentors for local kids. In addition, the title "Return to Grace" is based on recent efforts to revive street art culture in Cincinnati.

Details: 2-9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30. Elementz, 1100 Race St., Over-the-Rhine. $20 ages 18+, $10 ages 13-17, free ages 12 and under.
