COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - A Colerain Township police officer who was involved in a March shooting will not be charged, the Hamilton County Prosecutor has determined.
Authorities say the officer was involved in an undercover sting when a suspect pointed a gun at his head, which forced him to shoot the suspect in the hand.
The prosecutor determined that the officer committed no violation of law and has closed the review of the case. Colerain Township officials say the officer has returned to work.
The undercover sting was set up to bust four suspects accused of posting fake ads on Craigslist and then robbing potential buyers at gunpoint.
The criminal case against the defendant is still proceeding, according to authorities.
