HEBRON, KY (FOX19) - Travelers who fly out of CVG could soon see more lower ticket prices.

Frontier Airlines announced on Thursday it will be expanding non-stop services to five new destinations.

The low-carrier is adding service to Ft. Worth, Orlando, Las Vegas, Phoenix and Fort Lauderdale. Frontier currently offers non-stop flights to Cancun, Mexico, Denver, Trenton, New Jersey and Washington, D.C.

The new service from CVG will operate on a 138-seat Airbus A319 aircraft, with the option of flying in Classic Plus or Economy seating.

Frontier was the first low-cost carrier to enter the Cincinnati market. It's first flight was in May 2013. Since then, the company has been met with competition by Allegiant Airlines.

CVG officials said having two low-cost carriers in the market should make ticket prices across the board more competitive.

CVG was found to have the most expensive ticket prices in the country this year.

As part of Frontier's expansion announcement the company is celebrating with one-way fares for as low $14.99 for flights through Nov. 5. The special fares are only available today and must be purchased through the company's website,
