A 9-year-old girl has died after police say a sand hole collapsed on her at an Oregon beach.
According to the Associated Press, firefighters and police got to the beach in Lincoln City around 5p.m. Friday where witnesses were trying to dig the girl out.
Police attempted CPR on the girl but she was unconscious and not breathing.
The AP says the sand caved after the girl got in the large hole to see how deep it was.
Her family was reportedly visiting from Sandy, Ore., a town 28 miles southeast of Portland.
