Man sentenced for selling heroin that led to fatal overdose

COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) -

A Covington man was sentenced to 20 years in prison Thursday for selling heroin that led to the death of one of his customers.

Timothy Tingle-Brown, 29, admitted to selling heroin in April 2013 to a man at an apartment in Taylor Mill, Ky. The man subsequently died from an overdose from the heroin Tingle-Brown sold to him, said Kyle Edelen, spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Kentucky.

Tingle-Brown pleaded guilty to the charge shortly after the state of his trial. He was indicted in Sept. 2013.

Under federal law, Tingle-Brown must serve 85 percent of his prison sentence and will be on supervised released for three years after his prison term.
