Police: 12-year-old boy in custody after stealing, crashing car in Union Township

UNION TOWNSHIP, CLERMONT COUNTY, OH (FOX19) – -

A 12-year-old boy was transported to the Clermont County Juvenile Detention Center after he allegedly stole a neighbor's car and took it for a joyride through the neighborhood.

According to reports, Union Township police received a call just before 2 p.m. on a report of a stolen car on Miles Lane.

Police say they received several calls moments later about the same vehicle driving recklessly in the neighborhood.

Police say the owner of the vehicle tried to chase down the 12-year-old who was driving. That's when he crashed.

According to authorities, there were no injuries as a result of the crash.
