CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

A multi-million dollar investment is promising to change the landscape of Over-The-Rhine.

It's happening in the 1800 block of Race Street near Findlay Market.

The $14 million redevelopment project will include 40,000 square foot office, 15,000 square foot retail and 15 residential apartments.  Work is expected to start either later this year or early next year and will take 12 months to complete.

The Model Group, a Walnut Hills based real estate development company is behind the project.

Bobby Maly, Chief Operating Officer with the company said they carefully selected this location because of it's proximity to the Findlay Market.  He called it anchor to the neighborhood and an attraction that could never be recreated.

The Findlay Market originally opened in 1852 and is the oldest continually operating public market in the state.

In 2013, more than 1 million people visited the market, making it the fourth most visited destination in the city. Only the Reds, Museum Center and Cincinnati Zoo had more.

The Model Group is not the first company to tap into the market's success.

Currently, work is underway on three other nearby re-development projects including the Globe Building, The Crown OTR and two buildings at the market square.
