Man orders 6-pack of beer at drive thru, robs clerk at gunpoint

MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) -

Middletown Police are looking for a man who ordered a six-pack of Budweiser beer at a drive thru and then held up the clerk at gunpoint.

The robbery happened Saturday at the NASKARS Drive Thru on Yankee Road in Middletown.

According to police, the man pulled into the drive thru in a silver Honda Civic with the license plates covered up.

After he ordered the beer and the female clerk placed it on the counter, the man brought a rifle out of his car, went into the clerk's office and demanded money from the cash register.

The suspect then told the woman to get into the walk-in cooler, wedged the door shut with the rifle and left the scene. The rifle was later discovered to be a BB gun.

Another person came in a few minutes later and saw the rifle jamming the door closed. That patron released the clerk from the cooler. She was not injured.

The suspect is described as a black male who is 5 foot 5 inches tall with a mustache. He was wearing a blue tee shirt, a brown ball cap and jeans. He fled the area with an unknown amount of cash.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective John Hoover at 513-425-7796.
