Bust To Meet With Iraqi President

Bush meeting with Iraqi president

President Bush is seeing Iraq's interim president today -- with less than two months to go before planned elections.

While other Sunni politicians in Iraq are calling for a delay in the vote -- and some are threatening a boycott -- President Ghazi al-Yawer says waiting beyond January 30th would be a mistake. In a TV interview yesterday, he said a postponement won't solve the problem of bloodshed in Sunni areas, and would just -- in his words -- "prolong the agony." The meeting with al-Yawer is the first of three, back-to-back on Bush's schedule today. The others are Senegal's President Abdoulaye Wade and King Abdullah of Jordan.
