WARREN COUNTY, OH (FOX19) -

The man accused of shooting a teen before kidnapping and killing his mother has been released from the hospital and transferred to jail.

41-year-old Terry Froman was taken into custody Friday after police stopped his vehicle on I-75 in Warren County and found Kim Thomas dead inside.

Froman allegedly abducted Thomas from her Mayfield, Kentucky home before driving to Ohio. He has been charged with aggravated murder for her death.

Police said Froman attempted to shoot himself when authorities caught up with him on I-75 between State Routes 63 and 122. He sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated at Atrium Medical Center before being released Tuesday.

The Warren County Jail lists Froman was booked around 5:30 p.m.

Kentucky State Police say Thomas' 17-year-old son Michael Mohney was shot and killed in the process of the abduction. Froman is reportedly a suspect in the shooting, according to KFVS.

Froman, who is from Illinois, is expected to appear in Lebanon Municipal Court later this week.
