Police: Man arrested for impersonating an officer

HAMILTON COUNTY, OH (FOX19) -

A Hamilton County man was arrested on Sept. 10 after calling and identifying himself as a female officer.

Michael Williams, 31, called the Hamilton County Communications Center and identified himself as Officer Gloria Thompson with the Dayton Police department and stated that Michael Williams was killed in a car accident early in the morning in Dayton, Ohio.

Williams requested a Mt. Healthy officer respond to make a death notification.

Police say after investigating, it was found that the calls to the Communications Center came from the subject's Verizon Wireless cellular phone.

Williams was charged with impersonation of an officer and making false alarms.

Williams is due in court Thursday.
