COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) -

Parents of students at Ninth District Elementary School in Covington received a letter Wednesday after some students reported an attempted kidnapping.

Principal Scott Shepard wrote that three students reported that were walking to school Wednesday morning from Latonia Terrace and reported that a white man in a blue car attempted to grab one of them. All of the students arrive safely.

"As you know, safety is a priority in our school," Shepard wrote to parents. Therefore, we are reminding our students about safety practices when walking to school. We are also suggesting that you talk with your children about traveling safely to and from school."

The letter included a list of safety tips and also encouraged students to walk in groups and parents to accompany younger students.
