WATCH: Cranley profiles strengths, plans in State of Cincy address

In his first State of Cincy address as mayor, John Cranley covered an array of topics ranging from city infrastructure to the appointment of an official "fun commissioner.".

Cranley noted the city's energized vibe thanks to revitalized neighborhoods like OTR, but said development needs to spread to other areas of the city.

An announcement that a new 10-year financial plan in the works was made and Cranley stressed the need for the city to finalize a pension deal for workers.

Cranley touted Cincinnati's Police Department for shootings being down 17 percent and said he has recruited two new police classes along with a revived initiative to reduce violence during his time in office.

On a lighter side, the mayor declared the city now has a "Fun Commissioner." Frank Wood, a former WEBN DJ and son of the station's founder, was named Cincinnati's unpaid Commissioner of Fun.
