HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) -

Police have arrested a man who allegedly attempted to abduct a woman Wednesday morning inside a Hamilton parking garage.

Authorities say Matthew Harrison Thompson, 24, was wearing a black ski mask when he grabbed a woman from behind and attempted to drag her down the stairs of the George McDulin Garage.

The woman was able to escape and Thompson fled the garage, which is located at 102 North 2nd Street.

Thompson was arrested Friday around 4 p.m. without incident, according to Hamilton Lt. Carl Sigmon. He is charged with attempted abduction and is held at the Butler County Jail with a $100,000 bond.

Hamilton Police have increased the patrols at the garage since the incident and say they plan to do so indefinitely.
