WOODLAWN, OH (FOX19) -
A man dead after his BMW went off Springfield Pike and landed upside down in Woodlawn Sunday afternoon.
The accident occurred on the 10500 block of Springfield Pike at approximately 5:45 p.m.
Police say Paul Lyle, 50, of Lincoln Heights was traveling at a very high speed and as he approached slower traffic he tried to go around them and lost control of his vehicle causing it to make an abrupt left turn across all lanes of traffic.
Lyle's car struck the curb on the east side of the road and continued off the roadway and began to roll over as it traveled down an embankment. The vehicle struck a tree causing Lyle to be ejected from his vehicle.
The BMW landed about 40 feet off Springfield Pike just north of Glendale Milford in Woodlawn.
Woodlawn Fire Department transported Lyle to Bethesda North Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police say Lyle was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Drugs and Alcohol are both believed to be factors in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Traffic Safety Unit.
