PRICE HILL, OH (FOX19) -

Police are investigating after a woman says she was raped and robbed in the Kroger Parking lot around 2:30 Monday morning in Price Hill.

Police say the suspects offered a girl money, and when she approached the suspects in the car she was pulled inside and rape,  They say the girl was punched several times in the face and head.

The girl eventually got out of the car, the suspects fled the scene driving east bound on Warsaw Avenue with the victim's purse, according to police.

Shoppers at Kroger say the incident startles them.

The owner of Mr. Ron's Clothing Store is across the street from the Kroger, he says youth with nothing to do late at night is a problem in the neighborhood.

"I am kind of concerned about the crime in this area, especially late at night, windows being broken, vandalizing our businesses," said Rodney Etter.

Etter points to the gentrification of Over-the-Rhine to explain why District Three Police are seeing violence.

"They are building and tearing down lots of homes and apartments down there and they don't have no place to go but to Price Hill. It seems like they are being pushed out downtown and moving into the suburbs," said Etter.

According to Cincinnati Police Department's Strategic and Tactical Analytic Review for Solutions, from July 20 to August 16 of this year, District One Police downtown saw 14 crimes total, including homicide, rapes, robberies and aggravated assaults compared to District Three, which had 60 total incidents.

From August 17 to September 13 of this year, District One had a total of 27 of those types of incidents, District Three had 55.

Kroger has a security guard on site during store hours, they also have lights in their parking lot during the night as well as security cameras.

Kroger tells FOX19 Now police are handling the incident. At this time the suspects of the rape are unknown.
