DECATUR CO., IN (FOX19) -

A man has died after crashing during a Kentucky Speedway NASCAR driving experience.

According to a GoFundMe page created in his honor, 30-year-old Stephen Cox was involved in the crash on Sept. 14. He was taken by CareFlight to a hospital in Cincinnati where he remained in critical condition for over a week. Cox suffered several broken bones as well as brain damage.

Cox, from Decatur, died Sunday, according to the Associated Press.

A manager for the GoFundMe page said Monday that the family was working with organ donors and had not yet started to make funeral arrangements.

The GoFundMe account has already received $6,370 in donations toward the cost of Cox's medical care.
