Kings High School Engineering Academy students were challenged last year by their Engineering Academy teacher, Jason Shields, and Kings business manager, Steve Walkman, to come up with a solution to decrease the trash volume generated from Styrofoam lunch trays.

The students created The Tray Stacker.

The Tray Stacker stacks 18 tray. Students made six for each of the six school buildings.

The hope is to eliminate one dumpster per school building, Styrofoam waste and save the district $15,000 a year.

Mobile users can check out how it works here.
