BROWN COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - A Brown County hospital has closed its doors, giving patients little notice.
The voicemail message of the Southwest Regional Medical Center in Georgetown confirms its closing: "Hi, you've reached Elizabeth, case manager with Southwest Regional Medical Center. Yes, the rumors are true, SWRMC did close down today and it closed its doors at 5 o'clock."
FOX19NOW was told patients and employees were only given two hours notice of the closure.
The closing comes after a history of money troubles within the hospital.
We are told all patients have been transferred to other area hospitals. Home health care patients were not impacted.
