CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

A man was seriously injured in a crash involving a truck on Interstate 75 Friday.

According to police, Charles Moore, 23, was driving north on I-75 near downtown when he struck the back of a Hino box truck, which was slowed in traffic. Police say he failed to maintain assured clear distance.

Moore was extricated from his car and taken to University of Cincinnati Hospital Medical Center with serious injuries.

The driver of the truck, Kiangyang Liu, and his passenger, Lucas Mateo, were not injured.

Police say alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the crash.
