HAMILTON COUNTY, OH (FOX19) -

A Hamilton County Sheriff's deputy passed away Saturday from an unknown medical emergency.

According to officials, Colerain Township fire and EMS was dispatched to Deputy Nick Hoevel's home Saturday for a medical emergency. He passed away shortly after arriving at the Mercy Hospital Fairfield emergency room. It is unknown at the time what caused his death.

Deputy Hoevel was an 11-year veteran of the Sheriff's Office and was also assigned as an enforcement officer in Columbia Township.
