Good morning Tri-State! It's Friday!

Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected during the morning hours as an area of low pressure moves northeast. An associated cold front will bring off and on showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Temperatures will be in the 60s and 70s for your morning commute to work. Horse racing season is kicking off in Ohio and Kentucky today.  Keeneland race track in Lexington is kicking off its richest weekend Friday which could mean big bucks for Belterra Park.  FOX19 NOW's Kendall Herold is LIVE at Belterra Park with how the Tri-State's newest racino is hoping to cash in on Keeneland's opening weekend.

A New York high school is mourning the loss of one of their football players.  16-year-old Tom Cutinella collapsed during a game Wednesday night after taking a big hit by an opponent.  Cutinella was rushed to a hospital for emergency and later died.  FOX19 Investigated high school football helmets back in September to find out which ones were the safest.  FOX19 NOW's Megan O'Rourke is LIVE at Moeller High School's practice field with why hits in football games are so dangerous

Lincoln Heights is still without a police department. City officials say it's because they were dropped by their insurance carrier. The same thing happened to Lincoln Heights' fire department, however, the fire department will be running against by Friday at 7 a.m. because of an agreement with an insurance provider and the village.

Formal charges have been filed against four University of Kentucky football players accused of an incident involving a gun on campus.  

Police have identified the woman killed in an accident between a dump truck and car in Hanover Township Wednesday night.  The driver of the car, identified as 56-year-old Patricia Manning, was pronounced dead at the scene.  Her 4-year-old passenger was flown to Cincinnati Children's Hospital for evaluation Wednesday.
