The man accused of attempting to rape a child in the laundry room of an Evanston apartment complex has been indicted by a grand jury.
Terry Johnson, 28, is indicted for two counts of kidnapping, attempted rape and importuning, court documents state.
The mother of the 7-year-old victim helped officials catch Johnson on Sunday after she caught him allegedly assaulting her daughter at the apartment, located in the 3100 block of Durrell Avenue. Armed with a knife, she reportedly chased Johnson away from the girl and held him until police arrived.

Johnson is detained at the Hamilton County Jail with a $100,000 bond. He will appear in court on Oct. 8.
