Man arrested following SWAT standoff in Roselawn

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A man with extensive criminal history is in custody after holding police at bay at his Roselawn apartment for several hours overnight. 

SWAT officers responded to the 1600 block of Summit Road around 8 p.m. after the suspect called 911 more than 20 times throughout the day Monday, said Lt. Tim Brown. 

When police arrived at the building, officers say Kevin Menser, 48, fired a shot in the apartment building. No one was hurt, and police evacuated the building. 

Police arrested Menser around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday as he was trying to climb out of a window of the building. 

He is being booked into the Hamilton County jail three counts of aggravated menacing and one count each of obstructing official business and inducing panic. 

Police have arrested Menser several times in the past decade. He's been convicted of attempted burglary, attempted assault, resisting arrest, vandalism, disorderly conduct while intoxicated and criminal trespassing.
