A 38-year-old Westwood man died in an accident in Northern Kentucky Wednesday night.
Adam P. Strader was pronounced dead at the scene of the 9:30 p.m. crash on the eastbound ramp off Interstate 275 to southbound I-75/71, said Sgt. John Sterling, spokesman for Erlanger police.
Strader was driving a conversion van eastbound on I-275 as he approached the ramp to I-75/71 when he apparently did not see and struck the rear of a semi tractor-trailer parked in the ramp's emergency lane, Sterling said.
The side of the van split, and the vehicle flipped over the right side of the ramp.
Police are still investigating. It remains unclear if Strader wore a seatbelt.
The semi-driver, 73, was not hurt. He told authorities he pulled over into the emergency lane so he could re-set equipment related to his commercial vehicle, Sterling said.
