MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) – - A man who recently traveled to Nigeria was screened for Ebola at a Middletown hospital Thursday.
The man showed up to Atrium Medical Center complaining of aches and pains but hospital officials tell FOX19 NOW that he patient does not have Ebola.
Medical officials evaluated him and determined he did not meet the criteria for the Ebola virus but as part of the evaluation he was isolated and checked out.
The Ohio Health Department says even though he did travel to Africa, he wasn't visiting the portion of West Africa that is affected by the virus.
They say at this time there are no confirmed cases and no suspected cases of Ebola in Ohio.
Atrium hospital followed up with a statement to the press saying, "we do not have any cases of Ebola."
