Forest Park officer injured during police pursuit

FOREST PARK, OH (FOX19) - A Forest Park officer was injured during a police pursuit Friday.

According to authorities, the chase happened after police attempted to pull over Terrance Phipps, 47, for a traffic stop.

Phipps refused to stop, leading police on a short pursuit near the Promenade Shopping Center.

Court records state that, when the pursuit led to a dead end, Phipps hit two police cruisers to try to get away.

One officer sustained a leg injury but was cleared at the scene.

Phipps was taken into custody in the 1000 block of Ironstone Drive, just blocks from where the chase started.

He was charged with assault, failure to comply, OVI, improper rear lights and refusal of chemical test.
