LEBANON, OH (FOX19) - An Ohio State Representative is making headlines after announcing he will host a campaign fundraising event called 'Machine Gun Social.'
Republican Rep. Ron Maag's event allows supporters to 'shoot different machine guns with instructors and enjoy the day with fellow gun rights enthusiasts,' according to the flyer.
The Oct. 25 event will be held at the Hob Camp Nature Reserve in Lebanon.
According to the Associate Press, the event has led to outcry from Democrats, including is opponent in the November election, Charlene Schneider.
Schneider said the 'Machine Gun Social' is an oxymoron.
Maag hosted a similar event during his 2012 campaign, according to the AP.
He says the event will be safe and the weapons will be locked down-range.
