WESTWOOD, OH (FOX19) -

An armed man wearing a Halloween mask robbed a Fifth Third Bank on Wednesday and remains at large.

The suspect entered the bank, located inside the Ferguson Road Kroger, around 10:30 a.m. and displayed a gun before demanding money, according to authorities.

Cincinnati Police Captain Dan Gerrard said in addition to a skeleton mask, the suspect wore a black hoodie, gloves and carried an open umbrella.

“I've seen a lot of robberies but not many people standing there holding an open umbrella,” said Gerrard.

The masked man fled on foot towards a wooded area behind Kroger, where police say they recovered a hoodie and gloves believed to belong to the suspect. Those items have been processed for evidence, according to Lt. Martin Mack.

Authorities say canine units are attempting to track the suspect and an investigation is ongoing.
