CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - BY: Amy Van Syoc
The Bengals will be at Lucas Oil Stadium this Sunday as they take on the Indianapolis Colts. It will be a battle of two top division teams. Cincinnati is the AFC North division leader at 3-1-1. Indianapolis leads the AFC South at 4-2, posting four consecutive wins in the last four weeks.
Bengals defense has struggled lately, allowing opponents to rack up 80 points in the past two weeks combined. This could be a major issue for Cincinnati because the Colts are leading the NFL in total yards, passing yards, possession time, and points per game.
The likely absence of A.J. Green for the second straight week could present another struggle for the Bengals. The Pro Bowl wide receiver is still battling a toe injury and is listed as doubtful.
There is some good news for Cincinnati fans to be excited for, though. Wide receiver Mohamad Sanu is coming off a great week against Carolina where he brought in 120 yards and a touchdown. Running back Giovani Bernard will pose another threat to Indianapolis. The Colts struggled with Philadelphia in a Week Two loss when they allowed two second-half rushing touchdowns for the Eagles to steal a late lead and the win.
The Colts lead the series of the matchup 17-10, but the Bengals have secured wins in the two most recent meetings between the teams. Last December, the Bengals beat the Colts 42-28 at Paul Brown Stadium.
