Motorcyclist killed in Middletown accident

MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) - A 58-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a Middletown accident late Sunday.

Gregory Philpot of Middletown was ejected from his bike and pronounced dead at the scene of the 10:13 p.m. crash on Tytus Avenue just east of Enoch Drive, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

He was not wearing a helmet.

A 1995 Ford Explorer traveling west on Tytus Avenue ran left of center and struck Philpot's eastbound 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle, the patrol's Hamilton post reports.

The driver of the Ford Explorer, George Pickett, 38, of Middletown, was not hurt.

The crash remains under investigation.

Authorities have not said if speed or alcohol are factors.
