WEST PRICE HILL (FOX19) -

A West Price Hill father is in custody after a brief SWAT standoff involving his 8-month-old baby, Cincinnati police said.

A domestic violence warrant was being served in the 1100 block of Gilsey Avenue about 4 a.m. when the suspect refused to come out, said Lt. Tim Brown.

The man was intoxicated, holding his infant and said he had a gun.

"He threatened to kill himself and the baby," Brown said.

But when a SWAT vehicle arrived, the suspect - identified as Torry Jordan, 41 - turned the baby over to authorities and peacefully surrendered. Once police had Jordan in custody, they realized he did not have a weapon, Brown said.

The baby was reunited with the mother.

Jordan was booked into the Hamilton County jail on charges of domestic violence, inducing panic and child endangering.
