Clouds will decrease today as a persistent low pressure system from the north slowly drifts east. We should remain dry, aside from a slim chance for a sprinkle or light shower through the first half of the day.

High temperatures will make it to the upper 50s. You might want to throw an extra blanket on the bed tonight. There's a chance for patchy frost early Wednesday as the low bottoms out at 38 degrees.

Oscar Pistorious was sentenced to five years in prison today for culpable homicide in the 2013 fatal shooting of his girlfriend, Reeva Steevkamp. The Olympic athlete known as the Blade Runner shot Steevkamp while she was in the bathroom of his home. He said he mistook her for an intruder.



America says no to cappuccino-flavored Lay's potato chips. Frito-Lay says Wasabi Ginger won its contest that gives people a chance to create a new flavor, beating out coffee-flavored chips and two other finalists: Mango Salsa and Cheddar Bacon Mac & Cheese.


Ohio Supreme Court suspended convicted felon and Hamilton County Juvenile Court Judge Tracie Hunter this morning. That means she no longer will collect her $121,350 annual salary or practice law for an interim period. Last week, a Hamilton County grand jury convicted Hunter, 47, of using her judicial influence to intervene after her brother, a juvenile court employee, was fired for assaulting an underage inmate, and passed confidential information about the inmate to her brother.

Delhi Township police and residents are on alert after a 6-foot-long boa constrictor slithered away from its owner in a residential neighborhood over the weekend and remains missing. The large, nocturnal snake that can grow as large as 13-feet-long vanished Sunday in the 400 block of Morrvue Drive. The reptile's owner told detectives it wandered off while he was feeding it outside. 

The hunt for an Ebola vaccine will produce data soon about whether two experimental vaccines are safe and could lead to large medical trials in West Africa by January, a top World Health Organization official said today. Preliminary data could be available by December.

Some tense moments in West Price Hill this morning when a father refused to surrender to police trying to arrest him on a domestic violence warrant. He refused to go, held his 8-month-old baby and said he had a gun, threatening to kill them both. He quickly gave up when a police SWAT vehicle pulled up.
