Mount St. Joseph's teen with brain tumor to play one last basketball game

Tickets for Lauren Hill's game go on sale

FOX19 - The season opener for the Mount St. Joseph's women's basketball team doesn't typically garner so much attention, but this year is different.

The game was moved up so that Lauren Hill, 19, could play in her first and final college game.

The freshmen player has been diagnosed with DIPG (diffuse intrincis pontine glioma), a type of incurable brain tumor. Doctors have told her she won't live past December.

The NCAA allowed Mount St. Joseph's to reschedule its first game of the season against Hiram College to Sunday, Nov. 2. It will be played at the Cintas Center at Xavier University to accommodate a larger crowd.

Tickets for the game go on sale today at 9 a.m. They are $5 and all the net proceeds will go towards The Cure Starts Now Foundation.

Tickets may be purchased through, calling (800)745-3000 or by visiting the Xavier University Athletic Office.
