REILY TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

Two people are dead after falling from a Reily Township water tower.

Police were dispatched to the 3600 block of Oxford-Reily Road just after 7 p.m. for a report that two workers fell.

Butler County Sgt. Randall Lambert says that scaffolding failed causing the two workers to fall from the water tower.

AirCare was requested by police.

The one victim was pronounced dead on the scene. The other man survived the initial fall but later died while being treated by emergency crews, officials said.

The water tower is owned by the Southwest Regional Water District.

Authorities say the men were painting the water tower. They do not believe the men were from the region.
