Kiel leaves game, Cincinnati beats South Florida 34-17

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Despite losing quarterback Gunner Kiel at halftime, the University of Cincinnati Bearcats were able to beat South Florida 34-17 at Paul Brown Stadium Friday night.

Offense wasn't an issue for the Bearcats who had a 590 total yards compared to USF's 281 total yards.

Gunner Kiel connected with wide receiver Johnny Holton for a 38-yard pass early in the first quarter to put UC ahead 7-0.

The touchdown gave Kiel 20 touchdowns through six games.  The school record for the season is 31 touchdowns.

Kiel finished the game 13-of-22 with 196 passing yards a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown.

Quarterback Munchie Legaux took over for Kiel in the second half.

Legaux finished the game 14-15 with 121 passing yards and a rushing touchdown.

Big game on the ground from running back Mike Boone who had 212 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Wide receiver Shaq Washington had a career night, he had 163 yards on 12 receptions.

UC's defense came away with four turnovers, however, the Bearcats gave away three fumbles in the win.

The Bearcats play in New Orleans on Halloween next Friday night as they play Tulane.
