Olympic Medals Theft

Janitor charged with stealing Olympic medals from swimming hall of fame

Florida police have arrested a janitor who they say stole more than 100 Olympic medals from the International Swimming Hall of Fame. Paul Christow was found out after he allegedly sold some medals to a collector over the Internet. The goods, valued at nearly a half  million dollars, include a medal from the first modern games and some won by Johnny Weissmuller, who went on to play Tarzan. Investigators have recovered about half of what was stolen and are hopeful they will find the rest. Christow's lawyer says the man is a heroin addict. He also says Christow seems willing to work with the police to get the rest of the collection back.
