15-year-old arrested after shots fired at an apartment complex

HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) -

A 15-year-old was arrested after a fight broke out between neighbors at a Hamilton apartment complex Saturday afternoon. 

Police were dispatched shortly after 4 p.m. to the Park Place Apartments in the 300 block of Hampshire Drive.

Police say a dispute heated up and shots were fired from the window of an upstairs apartment into the parking lot.

"What originally started as a fight in the parking lot between 347 and 349 Hampshires, while the complainants were on the phone with the communications center the dispatcher could start hearing shots being fired in the background, changed it to a shots actively being fired call," said Hamilton Police Department Sgt. Ed Buns.

Police were able to shut the area off and with the help of some on-duty SWAT officers, they were able to bring the situation under control.

There were no injuries in the shooting.

The teenager has been charged with two counts of felonious assault and discharging a weapon inside city limits.
